Reusing furnishings, Renewing lives in the Raleigh area

We recently enjoyed a visit from Carole Marcotte, a local interior redesigner specializing in using client’s existing treasures to refurbish their decor.  She’s a great supporter of paring down your “things” and donating those extra household items to folks in need. She’s just been blogging about The Green Chair Project – check out her post “Decorating for a Cause” at:

It’s been a great time for volunteering at the Green Chair! We have welcomed Builders of Hope which donated much needed shelving to us, a Saturday work crew from the North Carolina Society of Certified Public Managers group, some very helpful and very strong Raleigh Charter, Athens Drive and Broughton High School boys helped with deliveries and moving furniture, our loyal Tuesday/Thursday regular volunteers, and then on Fridays, 16 Exploris Middle Schoolers started a weekly project with us! 33 volunteers in all in just week! We couldn’t do what we do without them!
